The convention chair made some very positive remarks. To mention a few:

  • The conference was a success, it met the expectation of the organizing committee and it exceeded the expectations of the participants whether they came from India, Israel, USA or across Canada.
  • That at in particular the people in Alberta felt that they have done something original worth a doing again.
  • The event is perceived to be significant  by the attendees that they believe they would continue to join the same event the coming years.
  • It is something to look forward in advancing the analytics industry in Alberta.
  • It is said to have developed a constituency among professionals in the field and has a mission to resolve chaos in the field that is very fast changing and many other issues

Srinivas (Vasu) Netrakanti is the CEO at Optessa Inc based in  Edmonton, Canada. Vasu is a pioneer in creating software solutions for scheduling and sequencing problems. Before he founded Optessa, Vasu was a co-founder and the CTO of TigrSoft Inc. He also participated in taking the company public on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 1998. He left TigrSoft in late 2000 after its acquisition by Matrikon Inc. Vasu holds an M.B.A. from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India and a B.Sc. from University of Poona, Pune, India.

Mark Hamblin is president of Dynamic Manufacturing Solutions (DMS), a  software development and consulting firm specializing in NAV. Mark spent many years working in manufacturing and distribution before leveraging that experience to create software for those industries. As part of his software development career, Mark also taught Computer Engineering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) and sits on various boards of direction for software development and manufacturing programs. DMS was ranked Alberta’s fastest growing company in 2011, and 13th in Canada.

Dr. Juzwishin is Director of Health Technology Assessment and Innovation at Alberta Health Services. He holds adjunct associate professor appointments at the University of Alberta in the School of Public Health, University of Calgary in Community Health Sciences and University of Victoria in Health Information Science. He is a member of the Alberta Advisory Committee on Health Technologies whose responsibility is to assist the government in the provincial review of health technologies and services. He is a Board of Director and serves as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee of the Canadian Society for International Health and is a member of the Canadian College of Health Service Executives Ethics Committee. He is a member of the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technology in Health HTA Exchange. He has been principal of his own consulting firm – Juzwishin Consulting Inc (JCI) in St. Albert, Alberta and former CEO of the Health Council of Canada. Dr. Juzwishin has experience in the private sector, government, and public not for profit sector.

She currently serves as the Deputy Mayor of Oranit (voluntarily)and a  board member of the Oranit Municipal Financial Corporation.
